For some reason, the chat does not load on my 3DS... Well, it loads the page to completion, but I see no chat posts on it. The funny thing is that I can see them on my other systems.

3DS switched to the shitty NetFront browser over the Opera based one in DS. NetFront is half baked and doesn't even support full html5. The chat doesn't use html5 or flash so it should work, but must be getting hung up on a JavaScript bug of NetFront. Strangely enough, on netfront for android it works just fine.

Use something that's actually designed to browse the web instead.
I normally use my iPod, but I went on with my 3DS for a change. It must be because it only loads what is supposedly permanent(?) but I'm not sure.

It is because the messages are loaded and generated on the page by JavaScript and 3DS apparently has JavaScript issues. Since browser makers all write their own JavaScript implementation there can sometimes be strange inconsistencies.
